Video Description[]

"This is just a small video i put together in what, 4-5 days I think? it's really nothing big and I only made it bc of the delay of episode 3.
I wanna clarify this video is NOT canon to The Walten Files and it does not have relevance in the story in ANY way, it's just a video made for fun and that's it, Happy Halloween! (Kinda late I know :P)

―Description of video

Summary[]

The video starts with the logo for MW Animation Studios. The title card shows "Duckie & Tammy: THE MYSTERIOUS HOUSE."

Duckie and Tammy appear in front of some houses, complaining about the lack of candy they received on Halloween. Tammy claims it is Duckie's bad costume is the reason while Duckie claims it is because of Tammy's lack of one. After this, he then suggests going to more houses for candy. The video cuts off Tammy's agreement by switching to a missing poster with a picture of a bear in a pumpkin costume, named Johnny Bear, who went missing on October 31st, 1978.

Duckie and Tammy later appear in a forest celebrating their success in getting more candy. Duckie suggests returning home for the night, but Tammy dares him to visit a mysterious house in the woods. Duckie makes her promise that it would be the last house they trick-or-treat for.

Pumpkin Rabbit talking to Duckie

The two of them are invited by the Witch Sheep into the home for candy. She introduces them to her friends, and the duo receives candy from the Pumpkin Rabbit. TVA takes a picture of them, and the rabbit shows them other pictures they had taken of trick-or-treaters (there are dates written under each picture: October 31st, 1975, October 31st, 1976, October 31st, 1977, October 31st, 1978). He then insists that they stay the night in their home, which Duckie and Tammy hesitantly accept.

Duckie and Tammy are now in sleeping bags in one of the rooms of the house. Duckie leaves the room, and some time later, Tammy wakes up and hears him call out her name. She leaves the room and finds Billy standing in the corner of the hallway. She explores further in the hallway and, unbeknownst to her, is followed by the Witch Sheep.

DuckyDead

Duckie's corpse

After searching through some hallways and doors, she finally finds Duckie in a room. She enters the room and doesn't notice the door is closed behind her. She tells Duckie to stop playing a joke with her when his mangled body suddenly appears. She looks around the room and finds more dead bodies of children, all of whom were in pictures in the house.

TammyDead

Tammy's severed head from her corpse.

The Pumpkin Rabbit comes into the room and asks Tammy why she was in the room. She frantically asks him "What have you done?" referring to the corpses. The Pumpkin Rabbit only says that he will have to punish her for wandering around the house. Tammy tells him to get away from her, but the rabbit takes off his mask, revealing a charred and disturbing face, and attacks her. Her dead body appears before the text "THE END" overlays the screen.

Trivia[]

  • The carpet seen in the Mysterious House is a reference to The Shining, a 1980 horror film.
  • The wall clock in the bedroom appears to be Banny.
  • It appears that some of the kids in the Mysterious House of past years somehow escaped, as two of the kids seen in the picture frames, a dog in an angel costume and a hippo, were not shown as corpses at the end.
    • However, it is also possible that Tammy just didn't see the corpses before her encounter with The Pumpkin Rabbit.
    • Additionally, it is possible that the kids were planned to be seen, but were either forgotten about during the development's episodes, or there wasn't time to add them.
  • A recording of "The Streets of Cairo", performed by Dan W. Quinn, is heard during the video's climax.
  • A few additional scenes were planned for The Mysterious House, however, they were cut, possibly either due to time constraints or pacing.
    • One of these scenes involved Ducky asking the house residents for a bedtime story, with Tammy saying she doesn't need one as she is old enough, but the Pumpkin Rabbit and Witch Sha both are more than happy.
    • Another scene involved Tammy trying to avoid TVA within the kitchen.
      • It is possible this was cut due to it not exactly fitting Tammy's innocence, as Tammy herself would likely not believe there is a threat unless a threat was more obviously shown previously, possibly in an earlier script.
  • Martin has considered the idea of creating a game based on The Mysterious House, though its not certain on whether it would continue development.
  • Martin at one point on his discord created a fake alternative ending to the short, where instead of Tammy and Ducky dying, they just leave the house in the morning.
  • Out of this extra and Boozoo's Ghosts, The Mysterious House was more fun to make for Martin.[1]
